Two universities – one mission: Take on the challenges of Europe’s Digital Society
Who we are The European New School of Digital Studies (ENS) is a joint academic venture of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and the Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan. It was founded in the spirit of connecting economists, lawyers, social scientists and technical experts in computer and technology sciences to take on the challenges of the digital transformation. We conduct transdisciplinary research, teach on the challenges and opportunities of technological innovation and belong to an international community keen to impact Europe’s digital transformation.
How we think At ENS, we understand the digital transformation to be a cross-societal process that questions established standards of political legitimacy, disrupts traditional economic thinking and revolutionizes perspectives on ethics and society. To meet the challenges of Europe’s Digital Society, we combine insights from academia with the expertise of private actors, public agencies and non-governmental organizations.
On 22nd of October AT 6 P.M. CEST we celebrated the start of the European New School of Digital Studies online.
Join our event virtually and be part of the panel discussion on challenges and opportunities of Academia in the 21st century. Enjoy the performance of the Berlin-based artist ricoloop, who creates spectacular electro-acoustic sound collages with his loop station.

The home of ENS is the Collegium Polonicum (CP) in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) and Slubice. Slubfurt (Slubice + Frankfurt = Slubfurt) is more to us than only a location close to Berlin. It is the place where ENS connects to citizens and realizeslocal projects in cooperation with cultural initiatives, business and municipality. Slubfurt is where we find all the promises and difficulties of an integrating Europe. Here is the right place for those who are ready to cross borders and go the extra-mile.
The Collegium Polonicum is a unique academic and cultural interaction hub between Poland and Germany. It offers an excellent environment to dive into your graduate program or kick-off your academic career, providing modern technical infrastructure, direct contact with academic and administrative staff and an international and open-minded atmosphere. The heart of our ENS-Campus consists of a co-working space where students, academic staff, mentors and external professionals work side by side outlining their vision for Europe’s digital society.
