No, there are no tuition fees neither for German nor for international students. However, students will have to pay a semester fee at Viadrina, which currently sums up to around 320€ per half year and includes a ticket for public transport, costs for student ID cards and a registration fee. The amount varies every semester and might increase slightly over time.
Yes, you can. Skills in programming are not required for applying to the MoDE. However, you should be open to gain at least some basic skills during your course of study as they are part of the curriculum. Technical knowledge and skills such as programming, data analytics and web development are crucial to be able to deal and apply digital technologies.
Yes, of course. Although the MoDE does not require an exchange semester, you are welcome to broaden your experience abroad. You can find more information on our partner universities and the different possibilities for your time abroad on the Website of the International Office.
The ENS does not provide own funding for incoming students. There are, however, various scholarship opportunities at the European University Viadrina, which you can find on the Website of the International Office.
International OfficeYes, we encourage you to use your time at ENS and learn German, Polish or any other language you would like to study. We don’t offer any language courses directly, but you can take part in the courses offered by the Language Centre of Viadrina or by the Language Centre at Collegium Polonicum.
Principally yes. We are currently establishing a PhD program, which is planned to start in 2021 and will provide candidates with an innovative program adapted to their individual research focus. Check our Research page for latest updates on the program and the application process.
If you hold an international academic degree, you can follow the regular application process. We will check the equivalence of your bachelor’s degree and let you know if any questions come up. If you are not sure how to proceed, please find a detailed 5-Step-Guide here. For a list of documents you will need as an international student, please follow this link.
Not specifically. What we want you to do is to send us a project idea that outlines an innovative and well-founded entrepreneurial scheme, aiming at providing a socially and ecologically sustainable solution to a problem or challenge of the digital society. That means you can elaborate more on the parts you are sure about but also include questions you would have to answer during your study program to make your project idea fly. However, we think that the scheme we provided includes rather important aspects and we recommend to at least touch upon them.
Possible entrepreneurial project ideas could be: an application that accompanies migrants on their way to a save country, a platform for organising sustainable consumption, a company offering online nursing of relatives in need of care. There are no limits to creativity.
Yes, you can! If you are waiting for exam results or you are finishing your bachelor thesis and your current grades suggest that you will obtain your bachelor’s degree before the Master starts, you can apply to the MoDE. Instead of uploading your bachelor’s degree, you must upload a certified transcript of records that proves that you are about to finish. If the transcript does not indicate that you are about to finish, please read these instructions on how to proceed. You will have to hand in your final degree a day before the Master program starts at the latest.
You can find a list of accepted certificates here. Please note that we do not accept any other language certificates. Your original certificate must be presented at the latest at the time of enrolment.
